Bacteriostatic Filters

Bacteriostatic filters are often used in conjunction with Direct Chill Technology coolers to ensure bacteria-free drinking water. 

Bacteriostatic filters contain media (KDF or AgION) that inhibit the growth of bacteria inside the filter.  Municipally treated tap water contains chlorine to prevent microbiological growth from the water treatment plant to the tap.  Bacteria growth typically occurs inside the water filter and inside the cooler’s cold water storage tanks. 

By utilizing both bacteriostatic media in the filter and Direct Chill Technology, Spectrum provides very cost-effective, bacteria-free drinking water for offices of all sizes.
