Service Technician
SUMMARY
Spectrum Water Coolers, Inc. is a rapidly growing, nationwide drinking water cooler company with headquarters in Jessup, Maryland. We seek a truly outstanding Service Technician to be a key contributor to our future growth by providing outstanding service to our clients. Basic plumbing knowledge is required, but prior experience in the water cooler industry is not a requirement – we will provide training and ongoing support. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced professional who enjoys new challenges and working both independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate must have a strong attention to detail, excellent mechanical understanding, and be able to manage his/her time effectively. Spectrum will provide a service truck (to be parked at the Service Technician’s residence overnight) and all necessary tools.
Compensation will be competitive and in line with the experience and skills of the candidate selected.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installation, field service, and maintenance of point-of-use (POU) water coolers and filtration systems.
- Respond promptly to emergency service calls for malfunctioning coolers and filter systems
- Perform routine sanitizing, filter changes, and UV bulb changes for water coolers
- Interface with customers as needed to explain services provided and obtain signatures to validate work performed. Be a strong ambassador of the company.
- Clearly document works performed on our standard service report and submit it on a timely basis to headquarters.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Installation/Plumbing
- Knowledge of and ability to make appropriate cross-connections on domestic cold water (DCW) sources, and establish direct connections to DCW supplies.
- Ability to run water lines (copper and/or plastic) inside walls and across drop ceilings.
- Knowledge of and ability to run small drain lines for reverse osmosis (RO) systems.
- Unscheduled maintenance
- Ability to diagnose and quickly resolve mechanical problems
- Maintain valid driver’s license (not CDL) for operation of company provided service vehicle.
- Plumbing union credentials are a plus.
